Can't decide where to go on a 3-day long weekend: Gangtok is the answer (DAY 3-LAST DAY)

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

Please check out the first post for itinerary of DAY 1 & DAY 2 before reading this one if you haven't done already https://thebroketourists.wixsite.com/website/post/gangtok-in-3-days

Finally!! done with the trip as this was the last day. I really wished for a long stay :( We just got half-day for sightseeing and we decided to cover as much as we can, of course, the local places only. In the evening we had to leave the place.

DAY 3

1. Loafing around

So we ran down to this cute restaurant near our stay we spotted the other day in the morning after checking out which saved us one-day hotel charges (Trying to be in the budget here *with a sly smile:D*). It was more like a patisserie, we had carrot cake, apple cake and veg quiche(a kind of wrap stuffed with veggies). The shop has a small gift section and also some local specialties like fish pickle, powders, plum, and other berry candies. We picked dried Chicken pickle from there.

2.Flower exhibition center Ridge Park

Our first destination was this center which had every species of flora and probably I have never seen most of them. It was like a general nursery. Behind the Center, there was a vast beautiful garden.

3. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology museum & library of Tibetan culture

golden

It is is an actual institute that offers courses in Buddhist Studies. The museum exhibits the cultural richness and history of Tibet through statues, ritual objects, art, manuscript, tools and much more. Photography was strictly not allowed inside the museum. You can find more details here http://tibetology.net/

4. Do Drul Chorten

Chorten in Tibet means a Buddhist shrine. Do Drul Chorten is the most significant stupa in Sikkim.

5. Banjhakri falls & Energy Park

Ban Jhakri means 'Jungle Priest' or in some definition 'Jungle Magician'. The Nepali folklore says that the first Jhakri or Shaman Sikkimacquired the power of mastering the evil spirits from the gods.

The last day trip cost us 1600/- for car rental and 200/- for tickets and everything else
